Donna F. (Hedglin) Romero died at her home in Riverton Saturday afternoon, Feb. 23, 2008, at the age of 75.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. The Rev. Father Dan Gannon and Sister Florence Petsch will officiate.
Cremation will follow.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the funeral home.
Donna Faye Hedglin was born in Sidney, Neb., on June 30, 1932, the daughter of Milford and Lucy Marie (Tschacher) Hedglin.
She married Emilio J. "Bill" Romero in Casper on Feb. 28, 1948.
Her family said Mrs. Romero loved trying new recipes and looked forward to canning in the fall.
Her family said that she also loved her family and friends, loved to cook and feed all those in her life, including sending candies, cakes, and cookies to all her family and friends at Christmas time.
The family said she also loved gardening, planting flowers and plants, her dogs who were her constant companions, helping friends and strangers, reading, feeding the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife. She also enjoyed travel and meeting new people, along with fishing and being outdoors.
In addition to the majority of her years in Riverton, she had also lived in Nebraska, Texas, and Arizona.
She was a member of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. Romero worked as usher at the Acme Theater in Riverton at the age of 13 and was a cook at Woodward's Bakery in Riverton, other cafes and restaurants, and worked for JMH Properties.
Survivors include sons, Thomas Jay Romero, Terry Paul Romero, Guy Denys Romero and his wife Suzanne, Shawn Roy Romero, all of Riverton, and Raegin Michael Romero of Alaska; daughters, Marcia Lee (Romero) Sauer and Debora Kay Romero, both of Riverton, Denise Ann Romero of Texas, and Shelley Faye (Romero) Stephens of Oregon; 24 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; brothers, Willis Hedglin of California and Milford "Pudge" Hedglin of Nevada; sisters, Eileen Wyteh-Krainich of Alaska and Marlene Canada of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio J. "Bill" Romero; sons, Mark Allen Romero and Rodney Lynn Romero; daughter, Diana Rae Romero; mother, Lucy Marie White; father, Milford Hedglin; sister, Mary Jo Clift.
