Lorraine “Rainie” Webb, 78, of Riverton, died at her home on January 20, 2015. A rosary will be on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church starting at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with Father Phil Wagner and Deacon Leo Cottenoir officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Lorraine Yvonne Cottenoir was born on October 6, 1936 in Fort Washakie, WY to Leo Eugene and Ethel Georgerene (Harris) Cottenoir. She was one of six children and was raised in Fremont County. She was an enrolled member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. She graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1955.
She was baptized into the Catholic Faith. She attended both St. Margaret’s Catholic Church and St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Parish Council at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church.
On October 11, 1955 she married James Webb in Casper, WY. Together they raised five children.
She earned her cosmetology license and became a business owner of the Aloha Beauty Salon for over thirty years. She sold her business and moved to Nevada for five years before coming back to Wyoming to retire.
She was an active member of the Riverton Does and had held the post of President, a past President of the local Soroptimist , was a former member of the Eastern Shoshone Credit Committee; and was a member of the Riverton High School Booster Club.
Her family said that she was an avid sports supporter of all sports, RHS, Softball (men and women’s), Little League Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, to mention a few. Not only was she a cheerleader in the stands, she also took tickets at many of the sporting events. Above all she loved doing things with her family and extended family.
She is survived by her son, Justin Webb and his wife Flo of Riverton; her daughters, Jamie Giddings and her husband Troy of Riverton, Kellie Webb of Riverton, and Marcel Johnson and her husband Marty of Winnemucca, NV; her brothers, Mitchel Cottenoir of Riverton and Leo Cottenoir of Levelland, TX; her sisters, Helen Welch of Bakersfield, CA, Georgerene Russell of Riverton, and Deborah Cottenoir of Riverton; her grandchildren, Brandon Giddings, Jorden Giddings, Hattie Calvert, Kaitlin Calvert, Lynnsey Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Xavier Webb, Jennae Johnson, Nancy Webb, Mardi Johnson, and Sadie Posey; numerous nieces and nephews; and relatives of her Eastern Shoshone and Cowlitz Tribal families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ethel Cottenoir and her son, Reginald James Webb.
