Krista Topaum, 35, formally of Riverton, died on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Porters Adventist Hospital in Denver. A rosary will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 7:00 pm at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. A wake will follow at the home of Delight O’Neal located at 167 Trosper Lane in Ethete. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at 10:00am at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery..

Krista Leah Topaum was born on July 21, 1979 in Pocatello, ID to Alfred Lee, Sr. and Catherine (O’Neal) Topaum. She was raised on the Wind River Reservation attended schools in Lander, WY. She graduated from the Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, CA. After school she lived in Salt Lake City, UT and Denver, CO for a few years each. She also lived in Hawaii for one year. For the last few years she had lived in Casper, WY and was attending Casper College working towards her degree in Social Work.

She was baptized and raised as a Catholic attending church at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ethete. In recent years she was a member of the Life Line Christian Church in Riverton, WY.

Before moving to Casper to attended school, she worked at for the Northern Arapaho Tribe in different positions.

Her family said that she loved spending time with children and family. Visiting and talking with her Grandmother Delight was very special to her. She enjoyed cooking and attending her nieces and nephews school and sporting events.

She is survived by her son, Kyle Yellowbear; her daughters, Michaela Yellowbear, Nevelen Yellowbear, and Autumn Yellowbear; her grandmother, Delight O’Neal; her brothers, William Topaum, John Topaum, Daniel Manzanares, Coleboy Posey, Leon Moon, and Jason Moon; hers sisters, Kari (Sterling, Sr.) Black, Emily (Frank) Vaomu, sissy (Kyle Farris) O’Neal, Sheri Moon, Raphelita Carrier, Darsyl (Skyler) Posey, Mallorie Posey, and Josie Posey; her aunts, Emma Topaum, Lynelle Shakespeare, Vicky Shakespeare, Vernita Shakespeare, Charlene O’Neal, Valene Revere, Colleen O’Neal, Molly O’Neal, Suzie O’Neal, Caroline Hill, KayKay Hebah, Sweetie C’Bearing, Jody Pimms, Kellie Tiger, Zoe Tiger, and Gwen C’Bearing; her uncles, Andrew Topaum, Edward “Red” Topaum, Darrell O’Neal, Jr., Jim Shakespeare, Norman Willow, Sr., Cedric Shakespeare, Dr., George “Poogie” O’Neal, Dennis O’Neal, Clarence Jenkins, Bobby C’Bearing, RJ Shakespeare, Louie Headley, Pat O’Neal, III, Al C’Bearing, Sr., Kelly O’Neal, Charlie Pimms, and Terry Tiger; her nieces, Catie, Tieadra, Feather, Kimberly, Krisly, Taleah, LaKya, Tearney, Sky Ray, Delight, Dodie, Keysha, Chessah, Denni, Brandi, and Amber; her nephews, Shado Hawk, Leander, Josiah, Jeremiah, Kris, Izzy, Christopher, Anthony, Madden, Neil, and Titan; and other numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Yellowbear; her parents, Catherine O’Neal and Alfred Topaum, Sr.; her brothers, Alfred Topaum, Jr., Chris Topaum, and Neil Moon; her grandfather, Emil O’Neal; her great grandparents, Eva Kniffin, Patrick O’Neal, Sr., Caroline Friday O’Neal, and Constance Shotgun; grandparents, John “Dutch” and Mary Eagleheart Topaum; her uncles, Rudy Starr, Sr., Martin Topaum, Ricky Topaum, William O’Neal, and Charles O’Neal; her aunts, Annette O’Neal and Marie Hebah; her grandma, Patricia, Bernice, Josie O’Neil, Peggy (O’Neal) Bell; grandfather, Donald O’Neal, Sr.; and her sister, Kelly Willow.
