James (Jim) Goehring, age 75, of Riverton died at Sage West Healthcare on February 7, 2015, of natural causes. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Davis Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services for will be held at Davis Funeral home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. . James Burton. Goehring was born December 19, 1939, in Lander, to William David and Wilma Pearl (Davis) Goehring. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1957 and also attended Casper College. Jim married Virginia Larsen in 1960 and they had two children, Kim and Cully. They later divorced. He married Wilberta (Stephens) Myers and they had a son William (Will), who joined her two sons, Dallas and Cody. After her passing he married Joan Harbaugh in 1975 and they had one son, Jon. They also divorced. For over 30 years he owned and operated J & J Welding Service and later owned Mustang Amusements. At the time of his death he was employed by 71 Construction as a welder.
Jim loved hunting, fishing, camping, darts and pool. He was a member of the Riverton Elks and former president of the Riverton Eagles. He was previously a member of the Riverton Search and Rescue. Survivors include his companion Lori Vocu, his children, Kim (Jef) Farley of Parker CO, Cully of Lander, Will (Megan) Goehring of Riverton, and Jon (fiancée Juliana Aycock) of Lander, and “adopted” daughter, Tandi Vocu of Shoshoni. Grandchildren include Jeremy and Christopher Farley of Parker CO, Amaya Goehring of Riverton, and those “adopted” including Chance and Broden Mathes of Riverton, and Gavin Gilkey of Riverton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilberta, and “adopted” daughter Tara Vocu.
