Jeanette Joyce Baltes, 83, of Riverton, Wyoming died of natural causes May 23, 2015 with family by her side at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton, WY. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., in the Trinity Lutheran Church. A Reception will follow in the church basement. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. Jeanette was born October 11, 1931 in Torrington, Wyoming, daughter of Martin and Meta (Klemke) Glandt. She was baptized on November 15, 1931 and confirmed on December 15, 1946 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lusk, Wyoming. She graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1949. On June 17, 1956, Jeanette married Dale M. Baltes at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lusk, WY. The couple were married for 43 years and had 2 children before he died May 18, 1999. She was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at the Lusk and Torrington Hospitals from 1949 until May of 1956, when she received her Practical Nurse License. Jeanette was one of the first to receive this license in the state of Wyoming. Mrs. Baltes retired from nursing at Riverton Memorial Hospital in 1991. Jeanette was an active and faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and belonged to LWML and Circle. She enjoyed baking, tending to her flowers and was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son Rodney and his wife, Alleta; daughter Jacqueline and her husband, Tom all of Riverton; grandsons - Blaine and Lyle Hughes (Amy Dale)of Riverton and Andrew Baltes of Denver, CO. granddaughters - Amanda Buss (Joe) of Cheyenne, WY and Amber Robbins (Justin) of Texas. Six great grandchildren with a little great grandson on his way. Brother Ron Glandt of Lakewood, Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Dean.
