Funeral services for Annie Elizabeth Rood, 88, will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Vernon Boehlke officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday, June 25th at Davis Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Rood passed away June 19, 2015 at Kindred Healthcare in Riverton.
She was born September 12, 1926 in Laramie, Wyoming, daughter of Oscar and Bertha (Hoel) Warpness. In 1929, Annie moved to Riverton with her parents, 6 brothers and one sister.
On November 27, 1944, Annie married Lloyd Rood in Lander, Wyoming. Over the years she worked as a Nurses Aide at Memorial Hospital in Riverton and Buffalo, Wyoming as well as working as a House Mother at the Wyoming State Training School in Lander.
Annie enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and tending her flower garden.
Survivors include her sons, Donald Lloyd Rood and his wife Linda of Riverton, Albert Oscar Rood and his wife, Jean of Riverton, Aaron Lee Rood and his wife, Theresa of Mesquite, NV; daughters, Mary Ann Naish and her husband, Fred of Cheyenne, WY, Holly Rae Rood-Long of Rio Rancho, NM; brothers, Gunnar Warpness and his wife, Sylvia of Sheridan, WY and William “Willy” Warpness and his wife, Laura of Indian Wells, CA; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Lula Engstrom, brothers, Arnold, Morris, Budvar and Harry Warpness.
