Traditional Native American Funeral services for John Tyrone “Duke or Tyrone” C’Hair, 64, will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the family residence, 62 C’Hair Lane. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15th at the Family Residence, 62 C’Hair Lane with a Wake to follow.
Mr. C’Hair died September 12, 2015 at the Kindred Wind River Health Care Center in Riverton, WY.
He was born November 14, 1950 in Fort Washakie, Wyoming, son of William Samuel C’Hair, Sr. and Eva (Brown) C’Hair.
Tyrone lived his entire life of the Wind River Reservation. He enjoyed attending Pow-Wows, handgames, softball and singing country music. He also enjoyed taking care of animals on the family farm, listening to the radio and watching cartoons.
Mr. C’Hair was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his brothers, William “Eicky John” (Nora) C’Hair, Wayne Thomas C’Hair, William Samuel “Porky” C’Hair, Raymond Lawrence C’Hair, Sr., Daniel Lee (Karen) C’Hair, Kenneth Paul (Marcie) C’Hair, Ambrose Freeman (Audrey) C’Hair, David Duane C’Hair, Gary “Big Rock” C’Hair and their families; sisters, Mary Ann Duran, Matilda C’Hair, Julia Mae Whiteman, Louise C’Hair, Rose Marie C’Hair (Melvin Osage) and their families; brothers-in-law, Mervin “Collins” Little Whiteman, Delmer Duran, Sr., and Mickey Spoonhunter; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members of the Duran, C’Hair, Whiteman, Little Whiteman, Norse, Spoonhunter, Brown, Headley, Willow, Yellowbear, SunRhodes, Moss, Bell, Blackbears, Wanstall, Eagle, Shakespeare, Blackburn and Ada Mae Burgess families.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Andrew and Alta Brown, Xavier and Frannie C’Hair; brother, Lee O. Eagle; nieces, Corrina Fay and Loretta Kay C’Hair; nephew, James Wade Little Whiteman; sisters-in-law, Francine Harris and Myrna Kay C’Hair.
