Thomas “Tom” York, Sr. 67, of Riverton, died at his home on Friday, September 18, 2015. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Thomas Hereld York was born on November 24, 1947 in Blytheville, AR to Arthur Burton and Tommie Jean (Price) York. He was raised in Arkansas attending schools there. He eventually moved to Denver, CO and then to Tacoma, WA.
On April 6, 1974 he married Nancy Brim in Tacoma, WA. Together they raised three sons. Ten years ago Tom and Nancy moved to Riverton, WY from Tacoma WA.
He was a railroad engineer for a time then he drove truck for, “Mr. T’s Hauling,” he later owned and operated his own truck which he operated for many years. He had also worked for the City of Colorado Springs.
His family said that he enjoyed fishing and swimming.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy York; his sons, Thomas York Jr. and his wife Sonija, Paul York and his wife Michell, and Tom Sonenson; his brother, William York and his wife, Brenda; his grandchildren, Billy, Bobby, Jason, Brenda, Jasmine, Michael, Jacx, Felicia, P.J. and Lillian; and his great grandchildren, Braden and Payton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Tommie York and his sister, Trisha Smith.
