Shirley E. Polk, 85, of Riverton, died at Kindred Healthcare – Wind River on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Private family services will be held.
Shirley Eloise Christensen was born on October 22, 1929 in Burns, WY to Clifford G. and Grace L. (Hall) Christensen. She was the only daughter out of three children. She was raised and attended school in Pine Bluffs, WY. She was a Wyoming native but also had lived in Utah and Colorado for short periods.
Shirley married William C. Polk and they had two children together, James and Diane. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a member of the Riverton BPOE DOES.
Her family said that she enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane L. and Richard Lobdell; her son, James K. Polk; her brothers, Richard Christensen and Gordon Christensen; her grandchildren, Aaron Lobdell, Brian Polk, and Cloe Polk; and her great grandchildren, Jason Polk, Tyler Polk, and Tadin Polk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Polk; and her parents, Clifford and Grace Christensen.
