Earl Wayne Smith was born on February 14, 1939 in Chillcothe, MO to Pirl and Nora (Hines) Smith. He was one of seven children and was raised in Missouri.
In 1955 he joined the U.S. Air Force and served until his discharge in 1959. He later joined the National Guard.
He lived most of his life in Wyoming mainly between Riverton and Lander. He did spend some time in San Diego, CA.
He enjoyed going to Ensenada, Mexico and Octollio Wells to race and drive VW bugs that his had built. He also enjoyed wrestling, fishing, hunting, dancing, and having a beer with friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Nevada Dighton and her husband Mark, Maxinne Haas and her husband Verner, and Yvonne Patterson and her husband, Jeff; his son, Earl Smith Jr. and his wife Angie; his sisters, Mary, Patty, Violet, and Linda; his brother, Larry; and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pirl and Nora Smith and his sister, Roberta Hinckley.
