Charles L. Wright, 74, of Riverton, died on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Sage West Health Care-Riverton. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 10:00 am at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church.
Charles LeMay Wright was born March 22, 1941, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Leland Charles and Zora Zulita Wright. He grew up in Shelley, Idaho, and attended college at the University of Idaho, earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
In December 1963, he married Carol Ackerman. After graduation in 1965, they moved to Albany, OR, where he began a 31 year career with Pacific Power. During the Vietnam War, he served for three years in the Navy based at Quonset Point, RI. After returning from the service, transfers moved the family to offices in Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. In 1984, Chuck moved to Riverton as District Manager for Pacific Power before retiring in 1997.
He was active in community affairs, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club, during his working life. At the time of his death, he was a member of Reach Club and on the board of directors of Reach Foundation.
Spending time with family was important to him; he enjoyed golf, camping and hiking, fishing and hunting throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife Carol and children Charles Wright and wife Hilary Lord, of Eugene, OR, Cory Wright and companion Lisa Williams of Riverton, and Matthew and Christine Wright of Missoula, MT., as well as 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
