Peggy May, 82 of Riverton, died at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, April 8, 2016. As were her wishes, no services will be held.
Peggy Lenore Nowlin was born on June 17, 1933 in Lander, WY to Bruce and Harriet (Battles) Nowlin. She attended grade school in Burris, WY and graduated from Dubois High School. She was a lifelong resident of Wyoming, having lived in Crowheart, Dubois, Thermopolis, and Riverton.
She was of the Episcopal faith.
On July 19, 1951 in Cody, WY, she married her husband, Richard James May. She was a homemaker while raising their one son, and three daughters. Peggy was a homemaker until moving to Lander, WY where she worked at the Wyoming State Training School, and in her later years she worked at the Riverton Senior Citizens Center.
She enjoyed being outdoors, rock hunting, fishing, and hunting.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard May; son, James May and wife, Cammie of Casper, WY; daughters, Cheri VanVleet and husband, Clayton of Burlington, ND, Judi Miller and husband, Jim of Thermopolis, WY, and Barb Foy of Riverton, WY; sister, Carol (Fred) Schaeffer; and thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Harriet Nowlin, three sisters, two brothers, and one great grandson.
