Melissa Briggs, 35, of Crowheart, formally of Cody, died on Sunday, April 10, 2016. A private family service will take place at a later date.
Melissa Jean Briggs was born on July 1, 1980 in Casper, WY to Jeffrey and Connie Briggs. She grew up in Cody with her brother and sister and attended schools there. She attended North West College earning two associate degrees, one in teaching and the other in science.
She was a substitute teacher in the counties of Park, Fremont, Campbell, and Natrona. She enjoyed working with the children.
Her faith in Christ was unshakeable, and she was always in his loving care.
After living in Cody most of her life she moved to Naknek, AK where she lived for nine years. While living there she bagged a 10 foot Brown Bear, which she was so proud of. She loved to fish, hunt, horn hunt, pottery, baking, history, coffee, and her dog Walter. Above all she loved her 3 children. For the last five months she had been living in Crowheart and found love and was loved in return by a wonderful man, Ty Murray.
She is survived by her sons, Bradley and Levi; daughter, Jessie; parents, Jeff and Connie Briggs; companion, Ty Murray; brother, Jacob Briggs and his wife, Pam; sister, Cristan Limmer and her husband, T.J.; eight nieces and nephews; three cousins, and an Aunt and Uncle Lella and David Smith in Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one uncle.
