Vera V. Kersting, 92, of Riverton and formerly of Casper died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Wind River Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Vera Vivian Lasley was born August 9, 1923 a twin born to Floyd and Anna Mildred (Nickel) Lasley on a farm near Springfield, Colorado, one of 20 children born to this union.

She married Carl Zenker. She was later married to Curtis Westbrook. She later married Wilbur “Bo” Kersting. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Vera lived the majority of her life in Casper where she raised her family. She had also lived in Oklahoma, Las Vegas, and Michigan. She moved to Riverton six years ago to be near her daughter.

Her family said she was a hardworking, strong, self-sufficient person. Over her lifetime she was a LPN, enjoyed working in Laundries, worked in a stove factory in Michigan and moved back to Casper in 1977 working as a seamstress, upholster and gardener. Her family said she loved gardening and was good at it. Her family was very important to her. She enjoyed reading and when she was younger was a member of the Casper water ski club.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Casper, Wyoming.

She is survived by children; Richard Zenker of Evansville, WY, David Kersting of Wellington, Nevada, Rose McGuire of Springfield, MO, Warren Westbrook and wife Doris of Maryland, Joyce Steinshnider and husband Alan of Arlington, TX, Vera Jo Binfet and husband Randy of Casper, Wanda Minard and husband Mike of Riverton, WY; 24 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren; brothers, Gale Lasley, Springfield, CO, Ted Lasley of Springfield, Co, Lloyd Lasley of Springfield, CO; Glen Lasley of Calif., and Robert Lasley of Springfield, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mildred; husband, Wilbur “Bo” Kersting in 1985; daughters Zella Moore and Linda Gripon; seven brothers and seven sisters.

Memorials may be made to Friends of Frontier Hospice in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
