Louise C’Hair, 67 of Arapahoe, died at her home on Thursday, July 28, 2015. A rosary will be recited on Monday, August 1, 2016, at 7:00 pm at 62 C’Hair Lane. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with Father Jim Heiser officiating. Burial will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.
Louise C’Hair was born on February 22, 1949 in Ft. Washakie, WY to William Samuel C’Hair, Sr. and Eva (Brown) C’Hair. She was one of fourteen children and all were raised on the Wind River Reservation. In 1964 the family moved to 62 C’Hair Lane where she lived the remaining of her life.
Louise was baptized into the Catholic faith and was a strong believer in the Catholic Church as well as the Native American ways.
She enjoyed sewing, baking, and watching T.V. She loved her family visiting her, going camping with them, attending hand games at the family home, and going to PowWow’s with her them.
She is survived by her brothers, William James “Eickey” C’Hair and family, Wayne Thomas C’Hair and family, William Samuel C’Hair, Jr., Rayomnd Lawrence C’Hair, Sr. and family, Daniel Lee C’Hair and family, Kenneth Paul C’Hair and family, Ambrose Freeman C’Hair, Sr. and family, David Duane C’Hair and family; adopted brothers, Gary “Cute Boy” C’Hair and Dan Brown and family; her sisters, MaryAnn Duran and family, Matilida A. C’Hair and family, Julia Mae Whiteman and family, and Rose Marie C’Hair; and her extended family members of the Brown, Headley, Norse, Spoonhunter, Wanstall, Yellowbear, Blackburn and Shakespeare families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eva C’Hair; grandparents Andrew L. and Alta (Tyler) Brown and Xavier Iceman and Fannie (Moccasin) C’Hair; brothers, John “Tyrone” C’Hair and Lee O. Eagle; and nephew, Byron L. C’Hair.
