A Celebration of Life for Michelle Ray Hiemstra, 45, will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Riverton City Park. She died at her home on Monday, August 29, 2016.
She was born on December 2, 1970 in Dallas, Texas, daughter of George Ray and Carolyn Mae (Ogden) Taylor. Michelle lived throughout Texas with her family.
On September 16, 1993, she married James A. Hiemstra in Lake Andes, South Dakota.
In 1995, the couple moved to Riverton from South Dakota. Michelle most recently was working at the Riverton Help Center, was a manager at the Comfort Inn, Night auditor for Holiday Inn, and did team driving with her husband.
The family said she enjoyed cooking and baking and loved entering in the fair for baking and canning. They said she was always willing to volunteer her time to anyone who needed it.
She is survived by her husband James “Jim” Hiemestra of Riverton; her mother, Connie Taylor; sisters, Patty Legan of Oklahoma, Denise Caskey or Iowa, and Melinda Caskey of King George, Virginia; nephews, Felix, Robert, and Randy Caskey.
She was preceded in death by her father, George
