Patrick Maes, 31 of Riverton, died at the Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper on Sunday, April 9, 2017. A prayer service will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Blue Sky Hall with a wake to follow at 40 Blue Sky Highway 132. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Blue Sky Hall. Reverend Rawlin Friday will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Patrick Lee Maes was born on September 2, 1986 in Riverton, WY to Phillip Maes and Ramelda Panzetanga. He grew up and attended schools in Riverton before going to Anaconda, MT to attend the Job Corp. He also attended Culinary Arts courses. He won 1st place in a Chili Cook Off in Casper.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, and being involved in his Native American Traditions. He was known to be very helpful, caring and terrorizing everyone. He loved kids and they loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Ramelda Panzetanga; father, Phillip Maes; grandmothers, Mable Maes and Irma Groesbeck; sisters, Ramona Panzetanga, Keva YoungBear, Dawn and Connie Oldman, Heather Brown, Charlene Brown, Teressa SunRhodes, Carrie Groesbeck, Sheri Groesbeck, and Alicia Armajo; brothers, Zackuary Maes, Chad Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Bryan Groesbeck, Myron Groesbeck, Telano (Danelle) Return To War, Jared SunRhodes, Vincent Brown, Daniel Oldman, Bryce Groesbeck, Alvin Brown, Jr., Ernest Brown, Soloman Brown, Ambrose Brown, Daniel Smith, Lee Spoonhunter, Mick Spoonhunter, M.J. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Hiram Armajo, Felix Groesbeck, Sr., and Lucio Maes; grandmothers, Ruth Sanchez, MaryBelle Armajo, and Constance Shotgun; aunts, Eileen Addison and Sally Marquez; uncles, Robert Maes, Teddy Maes, and John Shotgun, Sr.: Jeffrey (JC) Brown; and niece, Acacia Shaveheard.
