Mary Ellen Jordan, 73, of Shoshoni, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander, WY. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shoshoni. Burial has taken place at the Mountain View Cemetery.
Mary was born on January 22, 1944, in Thermopolis, WY, daughter of Lester L. and Hulda I. (Lawrence) Hart.
Mrs. Jordan met her future husband, Samuel “Sam” S. Jordan where they were both in the Navy serving as photographers in Washington, D.C. They were married December 25, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho. They moved to Riverton in 1966 and Shoshoni in 1999. She spent over 50 years in Fremont County, living in Arapahoe, Riverton, Shoshoni and Lander.
Mary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her sons, Cody Jordan, Layne and wife Mary Jordan, Hart and wife Annie Jordan, Jason and wife Sarah Jordan and Guy and wife Maggie Jordan; daughter, Beth and husband Jason Ellis; daughter-in-law, Kami Jordan; brothers, Max and Jack Hart; sister, Lorraine (Sherel) Goodrich; sister-in-law, Carol Hart; 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Jordan; sons, Dusty and Nathan Jordan; grandson, Cam Jordan; sisters, Billie Shoopman, Judy Hurt, and Shirley Hart; brothers, Kevin and Melvin Hart.
