Mary E. “Beth” Gossom, 61, of Thermopolis, Wyoming passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Hot Springs Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Grace Lutheran Church in Worland. Christy Meier will officiate. A lunch will be held prior to the service at 4:00 pm in the church reception area.
Mary Elizabeth Stuckey was born December 12, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Richard Stuckey and Kay Kesting. She was raised in Los Angeles, Calif and attended schools in Redondo Beach, Calif.
Beth lived in California for many years, Denver, CO for 14 years, and Thermopolis, WY for the last year and two months. She started working for Flying Tigers Freight and was a Senior Customer Service Representative for Federal Express for over 25 years. On May 30, 2008 she married Jersey A. Hamersly. Together the couple just celebrated their ten year anniversary. Her passion was animals large and small, she was a friend to all. She enjoyed visiting wild animal sanctuary’s and was instrumental in receiving animals from all over the world including Iraq and Panama.
She was forever grateful for Father Joe Galligan with the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in his devotion and guidance and Christy Meier for her Bible study whom she called her “Angel with Attitude.” She received unconditional loving care from Frontier Hospice and the fabulous staff of Hot Springs Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her loving cats and dogs, Sonny, Fred, Annie, Smokey, and Gizmo; her husband Jersey A. Hamersly; her parents Richard and Kay Stuckey of Redondo Beach, Calif.; seven siblings, Richard, Ted, Suzanne, Barbara, Rita, Laura, and Jan residing in Southern Calif.
