Lynda Irene Prettyman was born on September 9, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Virgil Charles and Margaret Frances (Dannaldson) Prettyman. While Lynda was born in Kansas City, MO she grew up in Southern California and graduated from Inglewood High School in 1970. She completed some college, but her true goal was set on raising a family. Regardless, she was very intelligent and was an invaluable resource on anything cooking or baking related, as well as plants and gardening, music, and was a truly jack-of-all-trades when it came to general knowledge and trivia. Only a fool would challenge her to a game of scrabble.
Lynda was a member of Fremont County for over 25 years. She moved her family to Pavillion in the early nineties from California. She viewed Fremont County as a safe and beautiful place to raise her children. She had a vision of what home was, and as such, moved multiple times as she refined this vision. Regardless of the house that she lived in, she always made the place feel like home and made sure everyone knew that they would always be welcomed. Her door was always open, just like her heart.
Lynda was first and foremost a mom, not only to her kids, Kelly and Patrick, but also to so many of their friends and acquaintances. She was a person who always cared for others before herself. She carried this passion for people into her work. Throughout her time in Fremont County, she worked for the Wind River School District, Jerry’s Flowers and Things, Midvale Irrigation District, and was an insurance agent before becoming a realtor. As a realtor, she worked for both Wind River Reality and RE/MAX All Star Realtors. Being a realtor was a great opportunity for her to exercise her compassion for helping people. It was this role that gave her the opportunity to become a member of the Riverton community and to help people find their dreams here as well. Her dedication to her clients is a part of why they loved working with her.
Everyone who met Lynda knew of her love for cooking and baking. This love shows through in every dish that she prepared. She would spend all of her free time making the most delicious meals or decadent desserts for friends, family, fundraisers or community events. You haven’t lived unless you’ve had a Mama Lynda dessert!!
She is survived by her son, Patrick Solan; daughter, Kelly Solan-Maas, and husband, Darrin; grandchild, Devin Maas; sisters, Karen Simpson and husband, Mike; aunt, Mary Jo Prettyman and family; and cousin, Susan Dannaldson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Margaret Prettyman; uncle, Clifford Prettyman; aunt and uncle Opal and Ralph Dannaldson; and cousin, Bruce Dannaldson.
