Rani Marie Ridgely, 39, passed away in Ethete on June 29, 2018. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 02, 2018, at Blue Sky Hall. A wake will follow at Theresa Friday’s residence, 154 17 Mile. A funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Friday Cemetery.
Rani was born in Lander on November 18, 1978 to Royce Ridgley and Angela Friday. She went to school at Wyoming Indian High School and Central Wyoming College.
Rani loved to dance fancy shawl and travel to powwows. She held several titles and enjoyed competition dancing. Rani danced for several years for Cheyenne Frontier Days and was a Wolf Dancer. Through dancing, Rani made friends all over Indian Country. Rani always talked about dancing again and how much she missed traveling to powwows.
Rani is preceded in death by her father, grandmother, Bernadine Friday, grandfather, Duane Friday, grandmother Junie Ridgley, uncle, Stanford Friday, and Chelsie Friday.
Rani is survived by her daughter, Windy; son, Jerome; mother, Angela; aunts, Elizabeth Friday, Aleta and Dennis Whiteman, Terry Friday, Jolene and Byron Makeshine, Colleen and Adrienne Friday, Luwayne Friday, Christina Friday, and Blanche Ridgley; uncles, Sanford and Donna Friday, Nolan and Ray Friday, Solo Friday, Eugene Ridgley, and Ben Ridgley; grandparents, Eugene and Mildred Goggles, Ruth Mary Goggles, and Hugh “Popeye” Ridgley, Verna Thunder; godparents, Steve and Eugenie Hvizdak; Friday, Goggles, Ridgley, Trosper, Roman families as well as her adopted families the Armajos, Baldwins, and Arrow Whites.
