Lois May Dunkin was born on December 12, 1923 in Miles City, MT to Leo and Bessy (Easley) Dunkin. She grew up with her brother and sister on the family ranch in the Owl Creeks near Thermopolis, WY. She attended school in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School.
Lois was of the Lutheran faith and attended St. John Lutheran Church.
Although she spent most of her adult life in Riverton she also lived in Thermopolis for a period of time. She married Roger Bonicelli on April 5, 1964 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Riverton. Together they raised their children in Riverton and made it their forever home.
Lois worked as a waitress at the American Legion, Elks Club, and The Broker. She also worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Ray Gossett and finished her career at Safeway where she worked as a cashier until she retired in 1989.
Lois enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, fishing and horses. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and traveling the world. Lois had many treasures in life, including her dog, Molly.
Recently when asked if she had a good life, Lois smiled and responded with “I’ve had a GREAT life!” She indeed lived a very full life.
