Judith “Judee” Karchmer Norgaard, 71, or Thorton, Colorado died Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Riverton, Wyoming while visiting close family friends. A memorial will be held at Quebec Place at Fairmount Cemetery, 430 S. Quebec St., Denver, CO 80247, on Friday, September 21 from 3-5pm.
Judith Kistler was born October 14, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Kirby and Mary Elaine (Shadford) Kistler. She grew up in the Denver area graduating George Washington High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis and attained her Master of Arts in Civil War History at the University of Mississippi.
She lived the majority of her life in Denver and Greeley, Colorado. She had two children with her first husband Timothy Wilson whom she divorced in 1988. She married David Karchmer of Greeley in 1998. He preceded her in death in October of 2004.
On December 17, 2009 she married Gregory Lee Norgaard in Port Isabel, Texas.
Judee enjoyed her work as a needlepoint and cross stitch designer. She created the needlecraft brands Pumpkin Patch Originals, Dry Creek Designs, Sugar Plum Express, and NeedleDeeva. Her recent work may be viewed at www.needledeeva.com.
She loved her work, and enjoyed painting, tracing her ancestry, and was a civil war history buff.
She is survived by her husband Greg Norgaard of Thorton, Colo., children, Chip Wilson, Dr. Kiersten Williams and husband Dr. Andy Williams, step-children Paul Norgaard, Karla Norgaard and her husband Renny McCauley; five grandchildren, Grayson, Melisse, Josephine, Ruby, and Iris; and close friends of the Burleson and Stafford families of Riverton, WY.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Kirby and Mary Elaine Kistler.
Memorials may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
