Mary Lou Rodgers, 91, of Riverton, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, at the Help for Health Hospice Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Davis Funeral Home.
Mary Lou Litz was born on November 4, 1926 in Bassett, NE to Ora and A. Marie (Prelle) Litz. She grew up in Bassett, NE and graduated from Rock County High School with the class of 1943. She then taught at a country school for a year.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
On June 3, 1946 she married Harvey Rodgers in Bassett, NE. They had two daughters and moved to Wyoming in 1960. Mary Lou and Harvey were married for over 66 years before Harvey passed in 2013. Mary Lou remained in Riverton close to family.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, working cross word puzzles, fishing, and camping. But above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sally Stover and husband, Rodney, and Cheryl Stover and husband, Dean; grandchildren, Duane Stover and wife, Heather, Robert Stover and wife, Shannon, Sherri Bass and husband, Jim, and Steven Stover and wife, Heidi; sister, Shirley Morrow; ten great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Marie Litz; husband, Harvey Rodgers; several brothers and sisters.
