Richard “Mike” Slayton, 69, of rural Riverton passed away at his home on Friday, September 14, 2018. There will be no services held at this time.
Richard Michael Slayton was born on April 2, 1949 in Titusville, PA to Lloyd and Bernice (Barr) Slayton. He grew up in Mill Village PA.
Mike served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 5. He was honorably discharged on January 1, 1973.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement as a constable and also for General Electric building locomotives and it is where he retired from. After living in Mill Village, PA for over 30 years, Mike moved to Wyoming in 2004.
Mike and his wife, Bonnie Melnick, shared over 25 years together.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Mike like to fish, play cards, ride horses, and being with his dogs. Boating was his passion and he went anytime he could.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Melnick; daughter, Lisa J Bowles; brothers, Dennis Slayton of Wichita Falls, TX, Robbie Slayton of Wichita Falls, TX, and James Slayton of Titusville, PA; sister, Karen Krepg of Titusville, PA; several extended family members and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the Heart Association or Tough Enough Cancer Fund in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
