Funeral services for Irene Wilson of Riverton will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
There will be a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow the funeral services.
Mrs. Wilson died at her home on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the age of 71.
Nellie Irene Smith was born in Coaldale, Colo., on April 2, 1937, the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Cooper) Smith. She grew up in various Colorado communities where her father worked for the railroad. She was graduated from high school in Ouray, Colo., and later moved to Casper.
On Oct. 3, 1959, she married Keith W. Wilson, whom she met in Ouray. They moved to Riverton in 1966, after living in various Wyoming towns where Mr. Wilson worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Mrs. Wilson was retired after working for 33 years as a teacher's aide at Jackson Elementary School in Riverton. She also worked part-time at the Riverton Museum.
Her family said she enjoyed the outdoors, camping, working in her yard, and her granddaughters gave her special joy. She was learning to text with her granddaughters.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, Keith Wilson of Riverton; son, Keith Wilson and his wife Robin of Gillette; daughter, Debbie Wilson of Riverton; granddaughters, Kelcey Wilson, Desarae Wilson, and Reilly Wilson, all of Gillette; sisters, Cathy Charles and husband Bill of Grand Junction, Colo., and Mary Verley and husband Jimmy of Lyman; three sisters-in-law, Barb Chapman and husband Russ of Aztec, N.M., Mona Kline and husband Pete of Ridgeway, Colo., and Nola Clark and husband Bob of Montrose, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Glenn "Dutch" Smith, and a brother-in-law, Robert Wilson.
