STOVER, CAROL A.
After a 21-year battle with cancer, Carol A. Stover, age 75, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Gold Canyon, Arizona. In early December, Carol’s doctor asked her, “Do you want to keep fighting or do you want to go “home?” The past summer had been another affirmation of her fierce will to never-give up. With her trademark smile, she replied, “Home, my life has been a gift. It’s time to go home.” Her last wish was to see all of her family one more time – together. A gift we all treasure!
Carol was born on December 6, 1943 in Riverton, Wyoming to her parents Sam and Esther Weber, who have preceded her in death. Carol and her beloved husband of 57 years, Darwin D. Stover, resided most of their lives in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Carol was a member of North Cheyenne Baptist Church, sang in their choir, and served for several years as the Children’s Sunday School Director. Darwin and Carol were lifetime philanthropists serving and giving to various organizations. Professionally, Carol spent the majority of her years with Corral West Ranchwear Corporate. Upon her retirement, she pursued the arts exploring various painting genres, traveled and RV ventured with Darwin, and spent time with family and friends. Carol is survived by Darwin; her 3 daughters Sherri, Terri and Brandi; her 8 grandchildren Amber, Brandon, Tala, Jeremy, Parris, Braedon, Gaige and Cutyr; a great granddaughter, Ember; and her siblings Ron, Jolene, and Linda.
Cremation in Arizona was arranged. Two memorial celebrations are planned. The first will be held at North Cheyenne Baptist Church on May 18, 2019 at 2:00PM in Cheyenne, WY; the second will be held at 2:00 pm on June 1, 2019 in Riverton, WY at Davis Funeral Home.
