Jacqueline “Jaci” Marie Leake passed away the morning of May 30th, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital in Jackson, Wyoming after a sudden, short illness. A graveside service will be held for Jaci at 11:00 a.m., Friday June 7th at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton. Friends and family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life after the graveside services at the family home north of Riverton, 10957 US Hwy 789.
Jaci was born in Riverton, Wyoming on September 30, 1949 to Enid Wagner Pingetzer and Robert Pingezter. She grew up on the family farm in Morton going to the Morton school until her father passed away. She then attended schools in Shoshoni, Powell and Lander.
She married Eddie Leake in 1966 making their home in Riverton and later having two daughters, Nicki and Robin.
She loved camping, sewing, gardening and being with her family. She was a loving and positive person always finding the good in everything. She was strong willed, honest and honorable. She worked as a bookkeeper for the businesses she and her husband owned and later kept books for Leonard Yost’s businesses.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Schamber and husband Greg; grandchildren Brookely and Garett of Pinedale, Wyoming; daughter, Nicki Portschy and husband Mike; grandchild, Michael (Mandy) and great grandchildren, Aspen and Gemma of Riverton. She is also survived by numerous cousins; sisters; and brothers-in law; many nieces; nephews; and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Enid Pingetzer; brother, Mike Pingetzer; sister, Bobbie Sue Lund; and husband Eddie Leake.
