LeRoy E. Franklin of Riverton died Thursday, September 25, 2008 his home at Rendezvous Campground south of Riverton. He was 65 years old.

Cremation has taken place. His children will honor his request, and there will be no service.

LeRoy Earnest Franklin was born August 31, 1943 in Lexington, Neb., the son of Daniel L. Franklin and May Agnes (Gillett) Franklin.

He had lived in Riverton off and on for the past 10 years, and had also lived in various other Wyoming communities.

Mr. Franklin was a disabled Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.

Most recently, he had been employed as a car salesman in Cheyenne, and had also been a Natrona County deputy sheriff.

Mr. Franklin was a member of the V.F.W.

The family said he was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gold mining and spending time with his friends and neighbors.

Mr. Franklin is survived by his children, Rhonda Gibson of Denver, Trina Corey of Fort Collins, Koedy Paisley of Albertville, Ala., Leah Woods and her husband Jim of Cheyenne, and Treavor Franklin and his wife Katie of Kansas City, MO; a brother Don Franklin and his wife Donna; a sister Betty Routt and her husband Bill of Lingle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
