Gary was born on May 18, 1958 in Crow Agency, Montana to Martha (Yellowrobe) Wolfname & Wilbur Wolfname, Sr.. He is a 4th generation descendant of Chief Dull Knife. He was baptized into Catholic faith. Paul Wolfname and Chase Yellowrobe also carried the Cheyenne Name Ame’haotse. He passed away on November 8, 2020 in Riverton, WY.

He enjoyed fishing and riding his bike. Gary’s love for horses led him to work as a Ranch Hand for most of his life. He also was a Montana Indian Fire Fighter (MIFF). Some of the best times he had was participating in Indian Relay with his brothers and nephews. He married Mona Blackburn-Wolfname, they had three children. Gary loved his nieces ,nephews & family. We jokingly would say that he had nine lives. He believed in the bible and scripture, this is what kept him alive. Gary was a very talented artist, painting, drawing & charcoal art.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ty Wolfname, grandparents, Nellie Brave Wolf, Mary Russell, Charles Yellowrobe, Alice Seminole, Brothers, Lloyd Yellowrobe, Daniel Wolfname, Wilbur Wolfname, Anthony Wolfname, Byron Bearchum, Waldo Yellowrobe, Duane Evans & Charles Evans.

Survivors include his Aunt Bernice Mast, his siblings Lenora Wolfname, Hank Wolfname, Linda Brady, Rick Wolfname (Janet), Cassandra (Stanley) Moore, Carla LaRose, Dr. Colette Yellowrobe, Rolette Coleman, children Frank Tallbull, Dawn (Leonard) Buffalo, Sterling Wolfname, Jakota Wolfname, Makita Wolfname; grandchildren, Stephfawn Tallbull, Grace Tallbull, Xavin Tallbull, Jaycee Tallbull, Shayla Wolfname, Tazalyn Jenkins, Jacalyn Warren, Edward Medina, Sophia Medina, Perri’on Buffalo, great grandkids, Starlen Tallbull, Virginia Ridgebear, all remaining descendants of Chief Dull Knife, Evans, Blackwolfs, Weaselbears, Baileys, Bearquivers, Grays, Horns, Shoulderblades & Walksalongs; Special Friends: Rodney Parr
