Charles “Chuck” Peden, 82, of Riverton passed away at his home on December 11, 2020. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Mountain View Cemetery, at 2:00 pm.
Charles Arthur Peden was born on January 13, 1938 in Laramie, WY to James Elven and Eilene (Boyton) Peden. He grew up in Lander, WY and graduated from Lander Valley High School.
After high school he entered the U.S. Army and served until November 4, 1960 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.
When Chuck was younger he worked in Alaska and traveled around to many other areas to work. He worked in Casper before moving to Riverton in 1970 where he worked in the uranium mines for many years.
Chuck enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors in the mountains.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Peden; sons, Herbert Charles Peden, Stanley Russell Helkey, and Gerald E. Helkey; daughters, Wand Eileen Peden, Mary Alice Briggs, and Angelia Darleen Westmoreland; brothers, Don (Eva) Peden and Willie (Karen) Peden; sister, Nancy Schmidt; grandchildren, Charlie Peden, Deborah Pedan, Edward Keele, and numerous step grand and greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Herb Peden; and sister, Ethel Lee.
