Funeral Mass for Gerald M. Bonds II of St. Stephen's will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Blue Sky Hall with interment to follow at the Headley Cemetery. The Rev. Father Ron Seminara will officiate. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Wyoming Indian High School at Ethete with a second rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. A wake will follow at Blue Sky Hall. Mr. Bonds died on Saturday morning, Dec. 13 2008, near Ethete at the age of 20. Gerald Michael Bonds II was born in Washington, D.C., on May 29, 1988, the son of Gerald M. Bonds, Sr., and Joan (Headley) Sage. His Indian name was Nookuneineibeii', meaning Rabbitman Singing. He had lived her for the past 18-1/2 years moving from Washington, D.C., and was graduated from Wyoming Indian High School in 2006. Following graduation, he played basketball in the Down Under Bowl in Australia and Hawaii. Mr. Bonds was of the Roman Catholic faith. His family said he enjoyed playing basketball, hanging out with his friends, playing video games, tormenting his older sisters, nephews, and nieces. He had worked as a cashier for the Wind River Casino and for the Shoshone and Arapaho Head Start programs. Survivors include his mother Joan Headley Sage and step father Bill Sage; father, Gerald M. Bonds, Sr.; adopted mothers, Iris Oldman, Janie Brown, Arlene Trosper, Little Arlene Oldman, Kay Davis, Karen Underwood; adopted son, Kenyon Brown; adopted daughter Jameka Burningbreast; adopted grandparents, Felex and Erma Groesbeck, Delphene Brown; Goddaughter, Kiara Friday; brothers, Josh Chavez, Robert Wallowingbull, Silas Littlebear, Russell Runninghorse, John and Jerome Goggles, Leroy Brown, Joey and Leon Behan, Leslie Todd, Star Friday, James Burningbreast, Jeff Underwood, Steve White, Patrick Jr., Derek and Josh Headley, Mylo Sage, Jeff and Jeremy Headley, Darryn Davis, Ambrose Brown; sisters, Contessa Bonds, Delinda Burningbreast, Delsie Headley, Linda Headley, Lisa and Patty Headley, Danielle and Larae Brown, Yolanda Behan, Dawn Headley, Nicole and Odelia Sage; adopted sisters, Kelly and Annalisa Davis; grandparents, James and Rosetta Bonds, Mary Ann and Thomas Allen. He was preceded in death by brothers, Michael and Christopher Bonds; grandparents Gloria and Joseph Headley.
