A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Fremont Center, Fremont County Fairgrounds for James Michael “J.J.” Harris, Jr., 38, who passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at SageWest Hospital in Riverton, Wyoming. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
J.J. was born on July 6, 1983, son of James Michael Harris, Sr. and Karen Kim (Paslay) Harris in Salem, Oregon.
He attended schools in Minnesota and Billings, Montana before attending Riverton schools. He worked as a rough neck in the oil field, a cashier in a convenient store and at a care center in Billings, MT as well as in the deli and liquor department at Mr. D’s in Lander, WY. Due to J.J.’s declining heart condition, including three open heart surgeries, J.J. had to step down from the work force.
J.J. was an avid fisherman who also found enjoyment in the outdoors camping, hunting and 4-wheeling. He lived for his family and was an amazing Dad to his four daughters. He always enjoyed sharing ice cream with them all.
Survivors include his four daughters, Haylee Jade Harris, Melody Moone Harris, Winter Raine Harris and Autumn Skye Harris; parents, Karen Britt and Todd Sickles; fiancé, Trista Plumb of Riverton; brother, Koedy (Nicole) Paslay of Florida and his children, Konner and Jackson Paslay; brother, Hauser Harris of Casper, WY; sister, Amber Harris of Greeley, CO; uncles, John and Jeff Harris, Terry Knight; and aunt, Shannon Goheen.
J.J. was preceded in death by his father, James M. Harris, Sr.; grandparents, Perry and Edith Paslay, Harry and Shirlee Harris; uncles, Michael Paslay, Kevin Pasley, Ricky Hess, Jerry Knight; and aunt, Mary Paslay.
