Forrest Frank Duran, Sr., 51, of Riverton passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, 1550 Bitterroot (Beaver Creek Housing). Burial will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Black Coal Cemetery, starting at Indian Time.

Forrest Frank Duran was born on November 3, 1970 in Riverton, WY to Alfred J Duran, Sr. and Gloria Mae (SittingEagle) Duran. He was given Standing Plume as his Native American Name. He grew up in Arapahoe attending school there until 7th grade when he went to St. Stephens Indian School and Riverton High School through 11th grade. He earned his G.E.D. at Casper College. He lived on the Wind River Reservation for 48 years only leaving to Oklahoma for about six years.

He was a member of the Native American Church.

Forrest worked at ranching, breaking horses, on oil rigs, and at the Wind River Casino.

He enjoyed participating in the Pow Wow’s at a gourd dancer and round dancer, playing hand games, fishing, and hunting.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Jenny Hebah; sons, Al SittingEagle, Forrest Frank Duran, Jr., Angelo Elvis Duran, Deigo Lynn Duran, and Mescalito Bootsie Duran; daughters, Tishina Mae Duran, Gina Joyce Duran, Mia Precious Duran, and Drizzlin Rain Duran; brothers, Randolf Duran, Sr. and family, Newell T. Duran I and family, Verdale J. Duran and family, Alfred J. Duran and family, children of brothers, Kenny, Kincaid, and Keller Duran; sisters, Norman Coudlin and family of Oklahoma, Morietta Duran and family of Wind River Reservation, Cori McAdams and family, and Cassandra Duran and family of Riverton; adopted brothers, Frances Eagleman and Earl Arkinson of Rocky Boy, MT; 15 grandchildren, Kenny Duran family, and all the members of Duran, SittingEagle, Armajo, Shakespeare, Wolf Elkins Clan, and special little friend, Oziel T. Duran.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria and father, Alfred; dad, Delmer Duran, Sr., grandparents, Mary (Armajo) and Joe Duran, Marian and Mary Rose (Shakespeare) Sitting Eagle; son, Sonny Jacob Duran; brothers, unborn brother, Alonzo Jay Eagle, Kenneth Duran, Keller W. Duran, Sr., Kincaid L. Duran, Virgil F. Duran (Bojo), , and Crawford White, Sr. grandpa, Edward Blackburn, grandma, Lillian Wolfrang Eagle, and uncle, Burton Hutchinson.
