Delano "Fritz" Walter Portschy passed away Monday February 28, 2022 at Westward Heights Nursing home in Lander Wy, he was 88 years old.
Fritz was born in Herndon, Kansas on December 24, 1933 to Walter Portschy and Ada (Robarchek) Portschy. They later moved to Culbertson, Nebraska, where they farmed with Grandpa Albert Robarchek.
In 1940, the family moved to a farm in Missouri Valley where Fritz attended and graduated from Shoshoni High School in 1951. In 1956, Fritz married Ruth E Kehm. In 1966, Fritz and Ruth started Fritz's Body Shop, which has stayed in the family and is now Fritz's Repair shop on South Federal in Riverton. Fritz retired from the business in 1996. Fritz enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, trapshooting, and especially taking his grandson fishing on his boat when he was young. Fritz loved everything to do with automobiles, making them go fast and keeping them looking good.
Fritz is survived by his son Mike (Nicki) Portschy, grandson Michael (Mandy) Portschy, two great granddaughters, and his brother Clyde "Toby" (Sue) Portschy, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Fritz is preceeded in death by his wife, Ruth Portschy, his parents Walt and Ada Portschy, brother-in-law Joe Kehm, and his sister and brother-in-law Doris and George Mazet.
Per his request, there will be no service. Memorials may be made to Hunting with Heroes, Riverton Chapter or Wounded Warriors.
