Norma Eileen Coombs-Fife died at Westward Heights on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the age of 85. Viewing is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, at the Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Riverton, Wyoming, 430 Elizabeth Drive, with Bishop Reese Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Norma Eileen Coombs Fife was born in Richfield, Colorado, on March 3, 1937, the daughter of Clyde Edward Coombs and Cora Pearl (Fredrickson)Coombs. Norma moved to Brigham City, Utah, in 1945, where she attended and graduated from Box Elder High School. She married Glen Richard “Dick” Fife on July 29, 1955, in Tremonton, Utah. Their marriage was sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Feb. 15, 1965.
The family moved to Riverton, Wyoming, in April of 1961, when Richard transferred with the Clover Club Potato Chip Company. Richard, Norma, and their sons owned/managed Big Wyoming Trucking of Riverton.
Mrs. Fife was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she was an active member of the relief society and held numerous offices within the church.
Norma was an involved parent and member of the Boy Scouts with her sons and received many awards. Mrs. Fife’s family said she enjoyed square dancing, bowling, singing, playing the piano in the church choir, concerts and plays at the college, playing cards with her grandchildren, camping, traveling and helping with all the church genealogy programs. She loved spending summers at the cabin with family and friends and rock hunting. Norma was also active in the Pioneer Women’s Association. Hosting Christmas parties and decorating for every holiday was something that was looked forward to every year.
Survivors include sons, Cyle and wife Suzy of Riverton, and Kelly and wife Patsy of Las Vegas; daughter, Kathy Finlayson of Riverton, daughter-in-law, Debbie Stone of Riverton; grandchildren, Kristi and Charlie Gercie of Fort Collins, Colorado, Tiffini and Troy Hackett, Shawna and Aleix Plouffe, all of Riverton, Jeff Fife and Andrew Koski of Laramie, Bryan Fife, of Moorcroft, WY, Cyla Jo Fife of Riverton, Ty and Dana Fife of Riverton, Kenny and Britney Finlayson of Dickinson, N.D., Heather Finlayson, Tacee Finlayson, and Payton Finlayson, all of Riverton. Great-grandchildren, Braxton Fehring, and Aslyn Fehring both of Riverton; Keagen Fife of Las Vegas; Kiira of Belfield, ND; Trenton and Emery Finlayson of Dickinson, N.D; Hazel Toole; & Rylei Plouffe all of Riverton; brothers Ray Coombs and wife Jeanne of Wellsville, Utah; Lee Coombs and wife Judy of St. George, Utah. Two brothers-in-law, Scott Fife and his wife Ruth of Hyde Park, Utah; and Dennis Fife and wife MettaMarie of Kennewick, Washington; a sister-in-law, Vickie Jennings of Lehi, Utah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fife; son, Kim; sister Margaret Cazier and husband, Jack of West Point, Utah.
