Carole Hyatt, 84, of Riverton passed away at Wind River Rehabilitation and Care Center on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. There will be no services held.
Carole Martha Boddy was born in Iowa City, Iowa on April 19, 1938 to Merritt and Helen (Miller) Boddy. She was an only child. As a very young girl Carole lived in Douglas, WY before moving to Riverton, WY when she was in 5th grade. Her mother was a teacher at Jefferson School.
On May 20, 1955 she married Lyle M. Hyatt at the First United Methodist Church in Riverton, WY. They were married for over 67 years. Together they had three sons and one daughter.
When her children were young, she was a stay-at-home mother. After moving to Lander, she worked at Gambles for eight years and then the Wyoming State Training School for twenty-two years. She was a member of a bowling league in Lander for many years.
Carole loved watching her children and grandchildren in school actives and sporting events. She was their number one fan. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, traveling and collecting state magnets.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Hyatt; sons, Donavon Hyatt and wife, Janice of Chadron, NE, Delvin Hyatt and wife, Brenda, of Riverton, WY., and Darwin Hyatt of Rapid City, SD; eleven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Deanna Schultz.
