Memorial services for Will Duty of Corpus Christi, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Rendezvous Church of Christ in Riverton. Pastor Ed Murray will officiate.
Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Duty died in Anchorage, Alaska, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the age of 29.
William Jay Duty was born in Riverton on Jan. 30, 1980, the son of Dennis E. Duty and Connie (Chopping) Duty.
He was graduated from Riverton High School in 1998, and attended Central Wyoming College for one year and two years at the University of Wyoming. He aspired to be a pharmacist and had nearly completed the technical training online.
He worked as a driller in the oil fields, most recently for Doyan Drilling.
Mr. Duty had lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, for the last three years.
His family said he enjoyed playing golf, jet skiing, weight lifting, and being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his companion, Leslie Price of Rock Springs; mother, Connie Chopping of Riverton; grandparents, Jill and Jerry White of Riverton; brothers, Jeremy Duty and companion Billi Nickelson of Riverton and Brandon Duty and his wife Jessica of Casper; a nephew, Hayden Duty; niece, Taylor Duty; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis E. Duty; grandparents, Jerrel and Velma Duty; grandfather, William Chopping, and uncle, Ronnie Chopping.
Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
