Edwin Torris of Riverton died Friday evening May 18, 2007, at Wind River Healthcare in Riverton. He was 85 years old.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will be next to his wife at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.
Edwin Torris was born on May 10, 1922, in Henryetta, Okla., the son of Platone and Dolly (Sellers) Torris.
Mr. Torris served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Ophelia Carwile, who preceded him in death.
He was an over-the-road truck driver.
Mr. Torris is survived by his five children, Patricia Keele of Riverton, Don Torris of Phoenix, Ariz., Laura Elder of Palm Desert, Calif., Evelyn Hester of Raton, N.M., and John Torris of Germany; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and five great- great grandchildren.
