Judy Turay, 69, of Riverton passed away at her home on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Private graveside services will be held.
Judy Catherine Turay was born on May 28, 1953 in Torrington, Wyoming to John Joseph Turay and Mary Lillian (Cunningham) Turay. She grew up in Torrington and Riverton with her brother, Robert. She graduated from Riverton High School and went to the University of Wyoming where she earned her Bachelors in Education. Judy returned to Fremont County and lived in Pavillion before making Riverton her forever home.
Judy was very spiritual but did not belong to an organized religion.
In her early working years, she worked on a survey crew at Gas Hills. Judy taught art at the Wyoming Indians schools and enjoyed her years of teaching different grades before retiring.
Judy was an artist enjoying painting, beading, making soap, among others. She loved being in nature and enjoyed living in Wyoming.
She is survived by her brother, Robert J. Turay and his wife, Pat, of Harvest, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Turay and grandparents, John and Catherine Cunningham.
