Donna “Kathy” (Iiams) Williams, 70, of Riverton passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana on Saturday, December 3, 2022.  A memorial service will be held at Davis Funeral Home on January 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in the Iiams family plot.

 

Donna Kathryn Iiams was born on March 7, 1952 in Powell, Wyoming to John “Jack” and Nola Nile (Elkins) Iiams.  She Lived in Riverton, Lander and Wheatland with her sister, Cindy. She graduated from Wheatland High School and went to Chadron State College and earned her Bachelor Degree.

 

Kathy was of the Methodist faith and attended the United Methodist Church in Riverton.

 

On March 8, 1986 in Casper, Wyoming she married Raye E. Williams.  They celebrated their 36th anniversary this year.  They had one son, John Nolan Kyle Williams, which was her pride and joy.  They made Riverton their forever home.

 

Kathy worked for Amoco Oil Company as a Production Data Processor for a number of years. She also worked for Vocational Rehabilitation.

 

Kathy loved the outdoors and all that Wyoming offered and enjoyed it with her family and friends. She had an incredible knack for never knowing a stranger. She would know your life’s story if time permitted during chance meetings. She always had a joke for you and was always smiling. She and her husband grew gardens every year and shared the bounty with neighbors. Kathy loved canning tomatoes and making salsa.  At Thanksgiving and Christmas Kathy hand painted cookies to give away, especially to children. This world has lost a beautiful soul, but heaven has gained one.

 

She is survived by her husband, Raye Williams; son, John N. K. Williams, sister, Cindy Kim (Iiams) Leenknecht and her husband, Tony; and nephews, Tucker Jon Leenknecht and Tanner Maurice Leenknecht.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nola Iiams.
