Robert E. Hutchison of Riverton died on Monday, July 13, 2009, at Wind River Healthcare in Riverton. He was 87.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with Pastor Michael Johnson officiating. A Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton with military honors.
Robert Elee Hutchison was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Nov. 25, 1921, the son of Robert and Mabel (Moore) Hutchison. The family moved to Dubois shortly after he was born. He attended the Dubois schools. Mr. Hutchison enlisted into the U.S. Navy before his high school graduation and served during World War II later earning his general education diploma.
Following his military service he moved back to Fremont County, then bought and operated the Office Bar in Sheridan from 1967 to 1971, after which he moved back to Riverton.
He married Marilyn Holtz on Jan. 8, 1951, in Harrison, Neb.
Mr. Hutchison worked as a bar tender at Svilars in Hudson for 35 years.
His family said he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge in Riverton and VFW and American Legion Posts in Dubois.
Survivors include a son, Brett Hutchison of Riverton
He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 15, 1987; four brothers, and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund, in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main, Riverton, WY 82501.
