Lucille M. Maxson of Riverton died on Sunday, July 12, 2009, at her home She was 82.

Lucille Marie Heald was born in Montrose, Colo., on Jan. 16, 1927, the daughter of Asa Willard Heald and Wilhelmina (Meyer) Heald.
She married William Stanley Maxson on June 15, 1952, in Palisade, Colo. The family lived north of Riverton for 20 years and in town for the last 16 years.
Mrs. Maxson was a special education teacher, having received her Master's degree in special education from the University of Wyoming.
She started her teaching career in Pavillion in 1951, taught in various other schools, and then in Shoshoni from 1974 to 1989, when she retired.
Her family said Mrs. Maxson enjoyed gardening, especially roses and iris, and reading with Max Lucado being her favorite author.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Riverton where she was a Sunday School teacher for both children and adults.
Survivors include her husband, William Stanley Maxson of Riverton; a son, Earl Maxson of Salt Lake City Utah; daughters, Kathleen Godsoe and husband Joe of Wasilla, Alaska, Michelle DesEnfants and husband Rod of Riverton, and Shirley Stone and Fred of Montgomery, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Charles Heald of San Diego, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Maxson on June 12, 1994; her parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
