Marita Warren, 75, of Riverton passed away in Billings, Montana on Sunday, April 23, 2023. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Davis Funeral Home. The wake will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Eagle Hall in St. Stephens. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery.
Marita Carol Whiteman was born on January 8, 1948 in Riverton, Wyoming to Felix and Mary Kate (Behan) Whiteman. She grew up in Fremont County and graduated from Riverton High School. She also lived in Alaska and California before settling in Riverton.
Marita was baptized into the Catholic faith and attended St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.
On January 12, 1978, she married Benjamin Warren, III in Riverton, Wyoming. They celebrated 45 years together this last January. They had three children and raised them in the Riverton area.
She worked at Headstart as a teacher, where she enjoyed being around the children.
Marita loved spending time with her grandchildren, fishing, camping, picnics, and going to the casino.
She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Warren, III; son Benjamin Warren, IV; daughters, Brook Warren and Edeana Warren; sisters, Augusta C’Bearing and Catherine Whiteman; and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Mary Kate Whiteman; brothers, John, Justin, and Seymour; sisters, Elizabeth Felicia, and Melvina; and grandparents.
