Funeral services for Sassite “Sassy” Underwood, 17, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2023 at Blue Sky Hall. Interment will follow at Sage Redman Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Yellowplume residence, 708 Rendezvous Road with a wake to follow.
Miss Underwood passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in Riverton, Wyoming.
Sassite Marion Underwood was born on May 15, 2006, daughter of Marland Patrick Underwood, Sr. and Stephanie Marie Armstrong in Billings, Montana. She attended Arapaho Headstart, Arapahoe Elementary and Middle School, and The Charter High School. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Sassy enjoyed basketball, wrestling, football, skate boarding, fishing, hiking, hunting with friends, teasing, joking, are and was very creative in writing poetry. She loved basketball and the following was written by her Coach for many years and Principal, Katie Law:
Katie stated Sassy loved to skateboard, play football, wrestle, and track. She loved singing the morning announcements at school and participating in the school’s cultural activities. She volunteered for the food distribution and campus clean up. She was in a croup called Bring Change to mind, she was an ambassador for Heritage week. She was a very competitive individual. She stated one day they played musical chairs, and she knocked the teacher off the chair. Katie said “I loved her very much”.

Goggles; aunts, Kelly Antelope and Philana Underwood; and numerous members of the Underwood, Redman, Willow, Oldman, and SunRhodes families of Wyoming, Deal(e), Mutte. Lapahie, Cohoe, Sandoval, and Wayman families of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and South Dakota.
