Memorial services for Elaine L. Lanier of rural Riverton will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.

George McMackin will officiate.

Cremation has taken place.

Mrs. Lanier died Wednesday afternoon, July 29, 2009, at Morning Star Care Center in Fort Washakie. She was 58.

Elaine Louise Meyer was born in Casper on Oct. 23, 1950, the daughter of Arthur and Marjorie (Freese) Meyer. She was graduated from Riverton High School with the Class of 1969 and was a life-long resident of the Riverton area.

A housewife, she had married Franklin L. Lanier on Sept. 18, 1971, in Riverton.

Mrs. Lanier was of the Jehovah Witness faith.

Her family said she loved to garden, grow flowers, crochet and embroidery, reading, her grandchildren and was able to spend a lot of time with them when they were little.

Survivors include daughters, Francine Lanier Johnson and her husband Van of Riverton and Amanda Rodgers and her husband Dane of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, Garret, Marissa, Tanner, and Cannon; her parents, Arthur and Marjorie Meyer of Riverton; a brother, Rex Meyer and his wife Lynn of Oregon; a sister, Janice Meyer of Casper; two nieces, Marjorie and Regina, and one nephew, Carl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on April 22, 2009.
