Dona Jean Poly, 87, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Wind River Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, Riverton, Wyoming. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Riverton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Dona was born in Bloomington, Illinois, and was the second of three children. Dona showed a real talent for music and was a marvelous singer. And because she was such a beautiful woman, she modeled for a number of years and won several beauty contests.
Dona had a brilliant mind and could have pursued advanced secular education, but when she studied the Bible and learned about the true God Jehovah, and his son Jesus Christ, she dedicated her life to serve Him. She entered the full-time ministry and served in that capacity for many years. She met and fell in love with her husband, John in Los Angeles, California, and they were married on September 11, 1965. They both served together in their volunteer work at various locations of the country. The couple has two sons, Javan and Jonathan, and nine grandchildren.
Dona was preceded in death by her father, mother and younger sister.
She is survived by her husband, John, their two sons; her brother, Charles and his wife Joyce of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.
