Memorial services for former Riverton radio announcer J. Larry Hedrick will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Pastor Aaron Justice will officiate.
Mr. Hedrick died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was 64 years old.
Nebraska memorial services were held Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney.
Burial of ashes is taking place in Riverton.
J. Larry Hedrick was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Alderson, W.V., to Ray and Neta (Sarver) Hedrick. He was graduated from Ronceverta (W.V.) High School, then moved to California. He attended radio broadcasting school in Long Beach, Calif., then moved to Riverton where he worked as the news director at KVOW/KTAK radio.
On Aug. 26, 1989, he married Barb Woodside in Lexington, Neb. They lived in Wyoming until moving to Kearney in 1996. He was working as a truck driver for Cash-Way Distributing in Kearney.
His family said Mr. Hedrick was a fan of Wyoming Cowboy athletics, loved Corvettes and was a member of the Archway Corvette Club. They said he also had a special love for dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Barb Hedrick of Kearney, Neb.; mother, Neta Hedrick of Princeton, W.V.; sister, Joyce Coiner of Pinedale, W.V.; brothers, Ken Hedrick of Cicero, N.Y., and Jerry Hedrick of Sun City, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to the Kearney Humane Society.
