Arthur F. “Art” Taylor, 83, of Rock Springs and formerly of Shoshoni died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Sage View Care Center in Rock Springs.
A Viewing will be Tuesday, August 25 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis with military honors by the Wyoming Army National Guard.
Arthur Franklin Taylor was born May 9, 1926 in Harrold, South Dakota to Lester Walter and Iva Clara (Hughart) Taylor. He attended schools in Harrold. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged serving on the USS Prairie attaining rank of F. 2nd Class.
Mr. Taylor worked his entire life in the oilfield living in Shoshoni, Rock Springs, and Point of Rocks, Wyoming.
The family said he enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, mechanicing and pets.
He is survived by son, Robert Taylor; daughters, Dianna Beatty, Linda Bollinger, Carol Boyle, and Darlene Hall; two brothers, Al Taylor and Steve Taylor; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Audrey and Ardis; son, Dave Taylor; daughter, Sharon Pitt; parents; grandparents; sisters; and brothers.
