Jefferson E. "Punk" Vore, Jr. of Glendo, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009 as the result of a traffic accident on Bass Lake Road near Shoshoni. He was 44 years old.
Memorial services were held Monday, Aug. 31, at the Catholic church in Sundance the Rev. Father Peter James Mwuara and Deacon Kim Carroll officiating. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Sundance.
Jefferson Everett Vore, Jr. was born in Spearfish, S.D. to Jefferson Vore, Sr. and Barbara (Waldo) Vore on Nov. 29, 1964. He grew up in Sundance, living on a ranch for 16 years. In 1981, he moved to Moorcroft and was graduated from high school there in 1983. He had lived in Glendo for the past 20 years.
On Feb. 29, 2000 he married Wendy Laney in Wheatland.
Mr. Vore worked as a concrete finisher and a truck driver from coast to coast.
His family said Mr. Vore enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, camping, and was the comic "leader" of the boys in the band. They also said family came first in his life.
Among his survivors are his wife Wendy Vore of Glendo; step-sons Trint Ayers of Blair, Neb., and Brian Ayers of Shoshoni; one grandchild, Clay Ayers; his parents, Jeff Vore, Sr. and Barbara Janssen, both of Sundance; grandparents Harold and Annette Waldo; brother, Robert E. Vore II; sister, Tleen "Tally" Hughes.
He was preceded in death by Claralee Vore and Robert E. Vore.
